About us
We named the company after the lake, because that is the area we actually serve.
Allatoona Managed IT is a small, local IT provider based in Marietta. Lake Allatoona touches all three of the counties we started in — it seemed like an honest name.

Why we exist
We got tired of cleaning up the same avoidable disaster
The pattern was always the same. A business calls in a panic. Something has failed — a server, a ransomware incident, a bad Microsoft 365 deletion — and they are certain they have a backup. Then we look, and the backup has been silently failing for eight months, or it was never covering the thing that actually mattered, or nobody has ever tried to restore from it.
The cause was rarely negligence. It was that backup had been sold to them as a line item, set up once, and then never verified by anyone. Their previous provider was technically correct that a backup existed. It just did not work.
So we built the company around the opposite assumption: that a backup you have not restored from is not a backup. It goes in every plan, we test it every quarter, and you get the report. Everything else we do — the monitoring, the patching, the security — sits on top of that.
How we operate
Four rules we will put in writing
These are commitments, not values-page filler. Each one costs us something, which is what makes it meaningful.
- 01
Backup is included, not upsold
Every plan we sell includes off-site backup. We refuse to sell a support contract that leaves the single most important protection as an optional extra, because the businesses that decline it are exactly the ones who need it.
- 02
We test the restore and show you
Once a quarter we restore your data for real and give you a written report. A backup nobody has restored is an assumption. This is the difference between believing you are covered and knowing it.

Prices are published
Our rates are on the website. You should not have to sit through a discovery call to find out whether a provider is in your budget. If the number does not work for you, we would rather you know now.
- 04
Month to month, no lock-in
We do not use multi-year contracts to hold onto clients who would otherwise leave. If we stop being worth the money, you should be able to go, and that keeps us honest.
Where we work
Four counties, chosen because we can get there
Our office is in Marietta. Everything we cover is within a drive that makes on-site help a real option rather than a promise.
What we are not
We are not the right fit for everyone, and we will say so early
We are not a national provider with a 24/7 offshore helpdesk. We are not the cheapest option — there is always someone who will quote less by leaving backup out. And we are not a good fit for businesses that need a large in-house-scale IT department or highly specialised enterprise infrastructure.
What we are good at is being the accountable IT team for a small business in northwest Atlanta that needs its systems monitored, its data genuinely recoverable, and someone who answers the phone. If that is not what you need, we will tell you in the first conversation rather than three months into a contract.
